Oak Harbor High School Community Service

for all incoming 9th - 12th graders attending the H. S.

Raising civic minded Rockets is something B.C.S. is passionate about. OHHS Rockets will dedicate one day of learning for community service to give back to the community that gives so much to them. All students in grades 9 - 12 should complete 6.5 hrs of community service from June 1st - September 23rd, 2022. The lessons learned from this 6.5 hours of service will count as your first day of school for the 2022-23 school year. Students in grades 9 - 12 will NOT need to attend school on August 24th as your learning occurred through helping out your community.

Criteria For Community Service:

  • Documentation of 6.5 hours of community service..

  • All time must be verified by a form signed by an official from the service organization

  • All forms must be submitted to the front office secretary.

  • All service activities must be non-school related. No compensation should be taken and cannot be counted if done during school required hours or activities.

  • Each Rocket is responsible for arranging their activities and securing appropriate signatures.

  • Students who do not complete will be given a day of absence for the first quarter.

PLEASE NOTE:

August 24th only students in grades 7 & 8 will report to school. Students in Grades 9 - 12 will NOT report until August 25th for their first day of school.
